What is happening at Glanmore this July!

The City of Belleville’s Glanmore National Historic Site has lots of fun for families on tap this summer!

Back by popular demand are the Summer Fun at the Museum afternoons where you can bring the family to explore the historic house and join our demonstrators for some old fashioned summertime fun. Regular museum admission applies; children must be accompanied by an adult.

The following Summer Fun activities are offered in July:

Wednesday, July 11, 2108 – 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm – Play outdoor garden games such as croquet, hoops, graces & stilt-walking!

Wednesday, July 25 – 2:00 to 4:00 pm – Make and taste delicious ice cream using our old-fashioned churn! cream using our old-fashioned churn!

Don’t worry if you can’t make it to one of the Summer Fun events, your family can still find new and interesting ways to explore Glanmore National Historic Site.

Families can borrow the museum’s Activity Pack and embark on an unique adventure throughout the historic house. The Activity Packs are suitable for children ages 5-12 and are meant to help parents and caregivers slow down and have a meaningful experience with their children while exploring Glanmore together. Activity packs are free to use with museum admission and are available on a first-come-first-served basis.   In addition, the Artifact Hunt worksheet is always available at our front reception desk.  The worksheet will challenge children and adults alike to a scavenger hunt to search through room displays for specific artifacts.  Once the worksheet is completed and all objects are found, bring it back to the front desk and receive a small reward!

In addition to these onsite activities, the museum will be participating Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15 at the Belleville Waterfront and Ethnic Festival. Stop by Glanmore’s booth to see the pop-exhibit celebrating local history and try the “Get in the Picture“ activity featuring cut-outs of paintings from the museum`s collections perfect for snapping a few fun selfies!
