Volunteer Appreciation

Volunteer Appreciation Picnic held at Glanmore

Glanmore Volunteers are Wonderful!

Did you know that volunteers contributed approximately 4000 hours of their time to assist Glanmore National Historic Site during 2013? Without their help the museum would not be able to achieve programming, research or exhibition goals. Thank you to all who have contributed, you really are wonderful!

Six of Glanmore’s volunteers recently received Ontario Volunteer Service Awards for their years of service. Congratulations to:

  • Lorna Garbutt – 5 years;
  • Karen St. Germain – 5 years;
  • Jennifer Davis – 10 years;
  • Mary Jean Carty – 15 years;
  • Mary Jane Throop – 15 years;
  • June Dafoe – 20 years.

To show our appreciation for all that they do, Glanmore volunteers were treated to a special picnic on Monday, July 7, 2014.  Museum staff, prepared and served a delicious picnic lunch with volunteers as the guests of honour!
