Takeover Day – March 4, 2017

Takeover Day

March 4, 2017 – 2-4 pm

The staff at Glanmore have been working on an innovative “Takeover Day” partnership with Mrs. Saunders’ Grade 7/8 Student Leadership Class at Queen Elizabeth Public School.
Takeover Day is an education program in which students learn more about behind-the-scenes activities at the museum and engage in real life projects.  Students have received in-class instruction about museum work and are developing meaningful projects in the areas of marketing, exhibit development, interpretation and visitor engagement.  It has been wonderful to see the grade 7/8 students engaged with their projects and hear their ideas.  They are really excited to know that their opinions and thoughts matter to the museum.
The Takeover activities will culminate with the students hosting a public event at Glanmore on Saturday, March 4th from 2 to 4 pm. Many of the students will be present to greet visitors, provide museum interpretation and showcase their work.  Of course, museum staff and volunteers will be on hand to help them out.
Please come and discover the museum Grade 7/8 style! Free admission, all welcome.
Takeover Event March 4, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
