Pieces of our Past – Quilt Exhibit

 Pieces of our Past, an exhibit of heritage quilts will be on display at Glanmore National Historic Site, from July 26th to September 29th, 2013.

This exhibition has been mounted in celebration of Glanmore’s 130th year since construction and 40th anniversary as a museum.

The exhibit features 17 quilts from the museum’s Regional Collection and range in date from the
1850s to the 1920s. From utilitarian bedding to beautiful artistic expressions these quilts are
important Pieces our Past.

Melissa Wakeling has a Bachelor of Arts from Trent University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Museum Management and Curatorship from Fleming College. Melissa works as Education and Marketing Coordinator at Glanmore National Historic Site in Belleville, Ontario.
