Education Volunteers Needed

Education Volunteer Recruitment Event at Glanmore

October 29 – 31 from 1 pm to 4:30 pmA Volunteer assists with the Victorian Garden Games School Program

Several thousand school children visit Glanmore National Historic Site each year.  Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring these student visits are engaging, educational and fun.  Glanmore needs more Volunteer Education Facilitators to assist the museum in the delivery of upcoming school programming.

Volunteer Education Facilitators work alongside museum staff to deliver education programs using lesson plans provided.  These volunteers need strong interpersonal skills and must feel comfortable presenting and leading activities with small and large groups of children.  Prior experience working with children is an asset.  Police checks will be required for all volunteers working in education program delivery. Volunteers must have week day availability.   Training will be provided.

An Education Volunteer Recruitment Open House will be held at Glanmore, 257 Bridge Street East, Belleville, on October 29-31, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm each day.   Potential volunteers are invited to attend the open house to meet Melissa Wakeling, Education and Marketing Coordinator, learn more information about volunteer involvement in school programs, fill out an application form and set up a time for a volunteer interview.
