Glanmore National Historic Site, is celebrating 130 years since construction and 40 years as a museum with a spectacular Victorian Fair. Join us on the lawn of Glanmore, 257 Bridge Street East, Belleville, Sunday, July 7th from 12:30 to 4:30 pm and take part in this historical extravaganza!
Entertainment will abound with musical performers, carnival games and more. See Doc Century’s Travelling Medicine Man Magic Show. Be amazed by the stilt walker, enjoy music by the Quinte Living Centre Band, watch a puppet show and play carnival games. You can even have the shape of your head “read” to reveal personality traits by Dr. Cerebrus, a Victorian Phrenologist!
Tour the historic house, with special discounted admission during the Victorian Fair, to see the amazing Feejee Mermaid specimen. The Feejee Mermaid exhibit is being offered for a very limited engagement. The display highlights this rare curiosity from Glanmore’s collection. Dated to the mid 1800s the mermaid is constructed from a combination of papier-mâché, primate bones and a fish body. It is sure to fascinate!
This event is rain or shine. Admission to the grounds and all performances are free, with nominal charges for refreshments and some special activities.
